JCA 2025 Part-Time General Assistant

We are looking for a part-time General Assistant to join our vibrant team at our Children’s Activity Centre, Condover Hall which is based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. Condover Hall is an elegant Grade I listed three-storey Elizabethan sandstone building, described as the grandest manor house in Shropshire, standing in a conservation area on the outskirts of Condover village.

This is a seasonal vacancy from now to October 2025 with the option to return for the 2026 season.

The details:

• Salary up to £12.32 per hour.
• Part Time Hours 6pm -10pm (Monday to Thursday)
• Full training will be provided including Health and Safety & Safeguarding
• Accommodation is not available and you will need your own transport to travel to Condover Hall due to the location 

Day to day, your key duties will include:

General Assistants are at the heart of Condover Hall’s smooth-running operation. With many different departments across the centre, they’ll be plenty of variety in your role to keep you motivated each day!

• Your primary role will be supporting in the evenings with reactive maintenance, housekeeping issues and assisting with setting up evening entertainment for our activities team.
• As a team player, you’ll be happy and flexible to undertake other duties when needed including cleaning and maintaining activity equipment, welcoming and serving guests on reception and our on-site shop and ensuring the well-being of our guests during any night porter shifts.

• A practical, problem-solving mindset and a can-do attitude.
• Happy to try new things & support departments where needed
• Motivated to work hard and to a high standard
• Enjoys working as part of a large team but also able to work individually
• Previous experience in maintenance, customer service, housekeeping is desirable but not essential!
