Contract Type: Seasonal Part-Time (Now to October 2026, includes Sunday shifts)

Reports To: Customer Care, Admin & Retail Manager.

The Role: Retail Assistant

As a Receptionist & Administrator, you will be part of a highly motivated team at the heart of our operation providing the highest standards of service to guests. This will involve in-person customer service and operational administration. It is expected our Receptionist & Administrator will take pride in their work, enjoy working as part of a team as well as under their own initiative, and thrive in a busy, hands-on environment.

This is a seasonal role working 16 hours per week.

Your weekly shifts would be:

  • Sunday 8.30am – 5.00pm
  • Monday 8.30am – 5.00pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Running the reception desk, delivering an exception standard of customer service.
  • Preparing guest arrival documents and arranging room keys.
  • Collating guest information and passing on to other departments in a timely manner, including guest numbers and dietary requirements.
  • Checking in arriving groups, ensuring they receive all the information they need for their stay.
  • Checking out departing groups, ensuring all keys are collected in.
  • Dealing with guest questions and issues by phone, email and in person.
  • Answering telephone calls and passing on messages to the relevant departments in a polite and organised manner.
  • Organising and returning claimed lost property.
  • Liaise with other on-site departments and our Brighton Office team.
  • Additional administrative tasks based on the current operation at Condover Hall.

Teamwork & Guest Experience

  • Work efficiently during the season, including our busy peak-season periods.
  • Support other departments when required to ensure smooth operation across the site.
  • Contribute to creating a welcoming and positive environment for all guests.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in an administrative/reception role.
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Competent use of Word, Excel and Outlook is essential.
  • Excellent customer service, approachable and friendly; you’ll often be the first face our guests see when they arrive.
  • Work well under pressure in a fast-paced role
  • Comfortable with to organising and prioritising your own workload.
  • Happy to work collaboratively with different departments at Condover Hall and Brighton office using varied methods, but also able to work independently when needed.
  • Reliable, responsible, and willing to learn new skills.
